Urban Jungle

Urban Jungle

Summer for me was pretty much over when it started, and am I   complaining about that…. not really. I’m ready for fall, I   won’t lie. I    figured the best way to cap off perhaps the fastest summer yet was with a good transitional look that easily works for the summer but can definitely get by as we approach the end of the season and Labor Day coming up.

If you’ve noticed, animal print truly never dies as a trend. I  feel like I’ve seen it EVERYWHERE and the interpretations are wide ranging. A while back, I  picked up this read-cheetah inspired print from a Nordstrom sale and have held onto it for some time, as I  knew it’d come in handy for the summer. To make this otherwise more going out top more work friendly, pairing it with navy dress pants and a denim jacket

With a pair of burgundy tassel loafers to tie in the print, it keeps the look a little more playful, which I  think is a must with something like leopard.

The Levi’s denim jacket is a closet staple, mine’s in Mugito (dark wash), and pretty much goes with everything. I  upgraded from an oversized one I  have because it started making me feel 10lbs heavier than I am.

I’m honestly really excited to start a new season and embrace whatever changes in weather and wardrobe that the fall will bring!

Happy Friday,

Gifted: Holiday Gift Guide 2018

Gifted: Holiday Gift Guide 2018

A personal favorite post from last year was my holiday gift guide! I  loved sharing what I  was giving last year and the feedback, so I’ve decided to play Santa Claus once again and return with another gift guide for this year!

Although Christmas gift shopping might make my wallet bleed, the idea of finding the perfect gift is worth the financial damage. With that said, I like to mix highs and lows, as most of my gift suggestions are under $30. All of my suggestions are still available to ship well before the 25th. Here’s what will be under my tree this year:

To help them keep time

Last year I  featured Chicago timepiece company, Wolfpoint, and they still made my list this year too! I  get numerous compliments on my watch from them, and with so many classic styles available, it’s a great gift to pass onto others. The Aberdeen style is shown!   (Under $160)

To help them stay warm

Let’s face it, it’s cold out there! I’ve been trying to stock up on all of my cold weather accessories as the temperatures drop and the snow starts to fall. Gloves, scarves and hats like this one from King & Fifth is an easy and affordable option in lots of colors that work perfectly with any winter look. (Under $25)

To help them stay tidy

As someone who wears glasses, I  typically throw them on the nearest surface and then forget about where I’ve placed them until I  wear them next. When doing some early holiday shopping, I  stumbled on this monogrammed catchall from Mark & Graham. It’s not only adorable but also so affordable for gift giving. I  swear by this website and even bought myself one, pictured, as it was 20% off with free shipping.  (Under $20)

To help them remember home

This is a bit of cheat because I was gifted this from a close friend and their family, but it was too cute not to include! It seems like everyone has a little bit of hometown pride whether it be through sports, high school or even their zip code. These adorable glasses have 813, my area code for home in Tampa, and the make an excellent gift. Every time I’ll drink from it, I’ll think of home!  (Under $15 each)

To help them looking good

Even thought I’ve never been someone who loves products for my face or hair, that may change thanks to Jack Henry. I  was introduced to them last year and LOVE their pomades for my hair! They work perfectly with my hair texture, and now they’ve launched a sea salt spray, face toner and deodorant that I’m excited to try. They just launched new packaging too, which I  love!  (Each under $30)

Gifting should be personalized and well thought out, don’t just buy something to buy something. If there’s one thing I love more than the reactions when people open gifts from me, it’s the wrapping paper they’re decorated with! I’ll be posting a holiday gifting post featuring my weird obsession with all things wrapping very soon! What are you gifting this year?

Hit the Target

Hit the Target

A couple of weeks ago I had the chance to partner with Target on a little collaboration, showcasing their new fall and winter pieces for men and today I finally have the time to talk a bit more about the overall look.

First and foremost, who doesn’t love Target? Whether it’s the dollar spot, the cute office supplies, or just the rush of pushing around the giant red cart, there’s something for everyone. Truthfully, I’ve never been one to make Target a go to for fashion, but upon further looking at their updated brands, that may change.

Before this collaboration, I had spotted their varsity bomber and fell in love. Such an easy and lightweight jacket that can be worn sporty or stylish and day to night. I decided to pair it with a lightweight turtleneck (that I’ve now bought in 2 other colors) to let the jacket be the focal piece of the look. With black jeans and white sneakers, the whole ensemble is just fresh and easy. Sometimes that’s all you need to look polished.

I was really impressed with Target’s redesigned line and could see myself picking up some more pieces this season! As the temperature drops, you’ll be seeing more and more layers, but not before heading to Jamaica next week for a much needed birthday and Thanksgiving celebration.

More details coming soon,

It’s about time

It’s about time

It’s been a busy March so far, with little time to put together some blog posts, but it’s about time I change that. Back in November and December, I  showcased an up and coming watch company based right here out of Chicago, Wolfpoint. Wolfpoint’s timepieces have local roots and design elements that come together and create a classic and sophisticated timepiece.

In a world of so many watches (on Instagram)  it’s important to find  watch I actually want to wear. The Hayes watch that I’m wearing jumped out immediately to me because it its a great reflection of my personal style. The leather band and gold are speak to classic menswear and watches, while the navy face is a little more unexpected. I  always admire a little of both.

I’m looking forward to seeing Wolfpoint establish themselves in Chicago and beyond, with such a quality product and great customer service. Be on the lookout as I  incorporate my Wolfpoint watch into more looks. As a gift to you for reading and following along with me, use the code WOLFTW20 for $35 off your watch order.

See you later this week for more spring looks,

Get to the Point

Get to the Point

In my opinion, watches have been, and always will be, both the perfect piece to signify style and that you’ve got your life together. We can all have the trendiest coat or the right shoes, but it’s a watch that adds the final touch to an outfit that says “I’m fashionable, but also timely.”

Over the years, I’ve had my fair share of watches, primarily from household watch names, but I’ve just made a recent addition to my watch collection that began right here in Chicago!

CallieCraigWAS111617-32

Wolfpoint’s mission is to create a unique and quality watch without outsourcing production and capturing the essence and classic style of it’s founding city. As you can see, mission accomplished! After twenty years helping to create watches for other brands, Wolfpoint wanted to give Chicago it’s own watch. I’m loving the way mine works with everything in my closet. Sleek, simple, and sophisticated.

Smaller details, like the “Y” logo at the top, represent the meeting of the north, south, and main branches of Chicago River. (just south of The Merchandise Mart) It’s the same “Y” you’ll spot at the Chicago Theater downtown. It’s history and details like this that make Wolfpoint an exciting new player to the watch game.

Regardless of if you’re in Chicago or not, I strongly encourage you to check them out! Women and men can purchase them by 2018, and you can sign up online for a special price upon their launch! I’m thrilled about this partnership and have high hopes for Wolfpoint as they make their debut. You can also check them out on my gift guide from last week. Special thanks to Callie for beautiful photos as always.

Happy Monday,

-TW

I love all of the gifts I’m giving out this year because they blend personal sentiment and quality materials perfectly. It’s been fantastic working with local and small businesses to create this guide. Can’t wait to see everyone unwrap their gifts this year!
